Here is a picture of the amplifiers. BR One is a 4 channel amp. the Sony XM-754HX which drives the front composet and the rear speakers. This amplifier produces around 4X 75Wrms at 4ohm, this is enough for the speakers. BR The other one is also a Sony amp. the XM-1002HX which is a 2 channel amplifier. This amp is used for the JL-subwoofer. The amplifier produces 1X 280Wrms at 4ohm. In this system, this amp. is hooked up at a 2ohm load because I used a JL12W3-D4 (parallel). BR /PP |

This is a picture of the composet, the Pioneer TS-C1720. BR This composet can handle up to 50Wrms. This composet is also sold with a cossover filter. On this cossover you can change the settings of you hights from 0 db to -3db. /PPBR |

Here is a picture of the rear speakers. This is a 2-way coaxial speaker whitch can also handle up to 50Wrms. In this system these speakers are not getting so much power, I wanted the front composet to be almost the only ones that played the music. Front staging is of course the best. /PP |

Here you can see the left-front door. The original speaker was taken out and it left a big hole in this door! To get rid of this I desided to make a spacer of the same size as the original one from mdf. It worked out great, I only had to check if the door panel could still be placed after the mdf-spacer and it did./PPBR |

This is the woofer in place. I used 6 screws to place the woofer. One of our future planes is to use sound deadner on the hole door. BR |

This is how it should be placed, the subwoofer facing the back of the car and the amprack besides it. The calculations worked out realy great, it fitted real tight! BR BR |

The two Sony amps. Notice that they both have the same size!! BRThis is the way they are going to be mounted on the MDF. On this picture you can already see the holes that I drilled for the wires. On top you can see the holes for the distributionblock BR /PP |

This is the amprack. You can see that the amps look great with their same size on this. The distribution block is placed behind the subamp on the left. This distribution block contains two fuses of 35A. The mean fuse is therefor upgrated to 60A. You can also see that the subwoofer amplifier is bridged. BR |

This is how the sub and the amprack are placed in the car.BRThe subwoofer in place and the top of the amprack taken of (on top of the amprack I put a MDF panel with the same carpet). BRWe have much future planes. One is, paint the side panels of the amprack in the same color as the car. /PPAfter everything installed it was time for tune-up. I''ve got to admit, the JL-sub really sounds great !!!BR |
